Hi.

What do these aliases in the subject refer to?
If these aliases represent the lag of a node, does the fact that they are single bits implies that the maximum lag of a single node is 1?

another option -
the aliases in the subject stand for the inputs given to v_i and v_{i+1} in both directions, and the lag is the variable that can be computed increasingly as depicted in figure 4 (a sequence of 0,1,1,2,2,3,3 and so on in the same fashion).

Is this the right interpretation?
