1.According to figure 1, we need to connect 3 flip flops per 1 vertex. Are we expected to use 24 flip flops in order to implement the stack(8) model? we’ve implemented a bi-directional shift using 8 flip flops. Is it ok?
2. Can you explain the difference between the first and the second circuit please.
3. Can you throw some light on the third implementasion and lag function as well.

You can combine flip flops to reduce the number. As long as it follows the correct idea, it is fine.
